Overview

This guide runs through the issuing of medication using MEDI-BOOK.

Procedure

1. First you must login to your MEDI-BOOK account (edu365.org.uk).

2. Now, faced with the MEDI-BOOK Home Screen, select Issue Medication (syringe icon) from the 8 main clickable buttons displayed on the screen.

3. The issue medication screen/menu will now be in front of the user.

4. The Issue Medication screen has many fields to complete, they are as follows:

Person Information (Name Search) – This is where the user searches for the person they are issuing medication to. Please note only search for either the first name OR the surname NOT both names as this won’t bring up any results.

Time Medication Issued – This is the time that the user issues the medication.

Witnessed By – This is normally the name of the person who issued the medication.

Select Medication (Individual Owned) – When the person’s name is searched, any medication assigned to them specifically will appear under this section.

Select Medication (Organisation Owned) – When the person’s name is searched, any medication that is owned by the organisation will appear under this section.

Notes – For any extra information the user may need to add to the record.

5. To create an issue medication record, the user should follow the steps and fill in the fields above with the relevant information followed by clicking the green Save Record button under the notes box.

Issuing Medication from the MEDI-BOOK Dashboard

When a pupil has a medication schedule in MEDI-BOOK it is possible to issue their medication straight from the MEDI-BOOK Dashboard. To do this follow these steps:

1. First you must login to your MEDI-BOOK account (edu365.org.uk).

2. Now, faced with the MEDI-BOOK Home Screen, select the big yellow box at the top of the screen that says MEDI-BOOK Accident and Illness Management Dashboard.

3. You will now have the MEDI-BOOK Dashboard on the screen. Scroll down to the section called Medication to be issued today, this is situated centrally on the screen.

4. Next, you will need to select the pupil and the correct schedule to issue to them, do this by selecting the ID number adjacent to the schedule.

5. This will then bring up the Issue Medication menu. To issue the medication scheduled, all the user needs to do is fill in the time the medication was issued, who witnessed the issuing (usually the user themselves) and any additional notes.

6. Once this has been done, select the green Issue Medication button in the bottom right of the menu.
